Any literature from the typical car insurance company emphasizes the importance of road safety. The executives at such companies realize that use of seat belts needs to be seen as an important component of such safety issues.
Still, a number of adults drive around without the added safety of seat belts. They simply refuse to “buckle up.” That fact explains the thinking behind a promotional campaign, a campaign conducted by one car insurer.
The specifics about that promotional campaign have been spelled out in the Fall/Winter 2009 issue of a magazine that Geico sends to customers. That thin publication includes an invitation to young people, an invitation to win some extra cash. Winners of a planned contest can expect to receive that cash.
The article referred to in the above paragraph offers information about an ongoing poster and video contest. Each of the contest entries is supposed to highlight the insurance of safety that a driver enjoys, whenever he or she uses a seat belt. The same article includes pictures of the winning posters in past contests.
Pictures of a few of the winning posters in past contests have been included in the magazine article. The car insurance company that sponsors the contest liked the caricature in the poster made by Brandon Kim. Kim’s portrait has been placed next to the poster that he created for an earlier contest.
What figure or statement appears on that winning poster? That poster has caricatures of a family riding in a car. Above their red car are the words “Buckle Up.” Below their car is the warning “Be Safe.” A pair of arms seems to be holding the car in a safe embrace.
Another snapshot shows the grand prize winner in a second category- computer generated posters. Yet no picture offers a clue to what might be found in the winning video entry. That category was not included in the contest until this year.
Still, car insurance companies can feel certain that each contestant will appreciate the importance of seat belts.
